In this video case study, Dr. Ed shares 3D CBCT images that reinforce the significance of getting necessary X-rays, MRIs, and/or CBCTs for accurate diagnosis and effective care. This patient came in reporting left shoulder pain with carpal tunnel. Even with health struggles as common as these, there were some imperative findings on his 3D CBCT images.
The doctors at UCCRoc discovered that he had a condition called diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH), where the vertebrae fuse over years to decades. After years of going undetected, our advanced imaging was able to help get some answers for this gentleman and get to the root cause of his health complaints. This case highlights the importance of proper testing and the potential for improvement even with such adaptations. This imaging helps the doctors determine where to and not to adjust, so brain-to-body communication can be improved through Upper Cervical Chiropractic care.
