Why do Upper Cervical Chiropractors Check 3D Imaging, Posture, and Neck Scans?

Here at UCCRoc we perform many tests to ensure you are getting the best care possible. Remember, if there is a kink in your gardening hose and your plants start turning yellow and brown, the answer isn't to spray paint them green, it is to fix the kink in the hose. Similarly we wont bandage the outside of your body, but will look to your central nervous system for any "kinks."

1. Posture:

A part of your brainstem controls your unconscious posture while standing or sitting. When there is pressure on this structure it can cause abnormal muscle spasm resulting in head tilts, offset hips, and finally pulling one leg shorter than another.

2. Leg Length Checks.

Due to these posture abnormalities at every single visit Doctors will perform leg length checks with several different parameters corresponding to each cervical vertebra. For example there is a different type of leg check for your C1 (Atlas) versus your C3 vertebra. From there Doctors can get another precise piece of your puzzle to determine what needs to be adjusted

3. Complete Neurological Diagnostic Testing (Tytron Scans)

Through surface temperatures on either side of your neck as well as blood flow, a pattern is established of what your unique scan looks like before ever getting adjusted. This scan becomes your base line for doctors to gather data to compare to at all future visits. If there is subluxation your scans will often look extremely similar to each other, and the base line scan. This means that your body is not adapting the way that it should.

4. 3D Imaging

This is one of the most important steps because it is how the doctors objectively determine where misalignments are in you neck causing pressure in your brainstem. In this video Dr. Ed shows how there is asymmetrical areas in the scan along with a head tilt that are resulting in a narrowing of the canal where our central nervous system sits.

Through all of these tools Doctors here are able to determine where to specifically and scientifically adjust to get the most pressure off, allowing your body to adapt and thrive with anything life throws at you.
